Is scuba diving safe for beginners?
Yes. Scuba diving is very safe when conducted with professional instructors and proper equipment. At Elite Diving Centre all beginner dives are supervised by certified PADI instructors and carried out in calm, shallow water suitable for first-time divers.
Do I need previous diving experience?
No previous experience is required for a Try Dive or Discover Scuba Diving experience. Our instructors provide a full briefing and guide you step by step throughout the dive.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Basic swimming ability is recommended but you do not need to be an expert swimmer for an introduction dive. For full scuba diving certification courses such as PADI Open Water, a basic swimming test is required.
What is the minimum age for scuba diving?
The minimum age for a Try Dive experience is usually 12 years old, depending on conditions and instructor assessment. PADI certification courses also start from age 12.
How deep will we dive?
For beginner introduction dives the depth is typically between 3 and 5 metres. Certified divers may dive deeper depending on their certification level.
How long does the diving trip last?
Most of our diving trips are full-day boat trips. They include two dives, lunch on board, relaxation time and beautiful views around the Fethiye coastline.
What equipment is included?
All diving equipment is included in the price:
  • Mask
  • Fins
  • Wetsuit
  • BCD
  • Regulator
  • Tank and weights
You only need to bring swimwear and a towel.
What marine life can I see in Fethiye?
The waters around Fethiye are home to a variety of Mediterranean marine life including:
  • Groupers
  • Octopus
  • Moray eels
  • Sea bream
  • Scorpionfish
  • Barracuda (occasionally)
You may also encounter colourful reef fish and interesting underwater rock formations.
What is the water temperature in Fethiye?
Water temperatures vary throughout the year:
  • Spring: 18-20°C
  • Summer: 24-28°C
  • Autumn: 22-26°C
Wetsuits are provided to ensure comfort during dives.
Can I dive if I wear glasses or contact lenses?
Yes. Many divers wear contact lenses during dives. Prescription diving masks are also available for those who need them.
Can I dive if I have never been underwater before?
Absolutely. Our Try Dive experience is specifically designed for beginners who have never scuba dived before.
How many dive sites are there in Fethiye?
There are more than 30 dive sites around Fethiye including reefs, caves, tunnels and wall dives suitable for both beginners and experienced divers.
Can I continue diving after my first experience?
Yes! Many divers start with a Try Dive and then continue with the PADI Open Water Course, which allows them to dive independently anywhere in the world.
